1. Website access and general use
This website is provided for customers, suppliers and other users who want information about industrial and household sewing machines, embroidery machines, fusing presses, parts, attachments, threads and related services in Johannesburg and across Gauteng. You may browse the site for lawful purposes only and you must not use it in any way that could damage, disable or interfere with its operation.
We may update, suspend or withdraw any part of the website at any time without notice. Information on this site is intended to be practical and current, but it may change as stock, service schedules and workshop conditions change.
- Use the website only for lawful purposes.
- Do not interfere with security, forms or system access.
- Do not attempt unauthorised access to content or data.
2. Enquiries, quotes and service requests
Enquiry forms on this website are provided so that customers can request product information, book servicing or ask for support from our Johannesburg CBD base. A submitted enquiry does not create a binding contract unless we confirm the order, booking or service in writing. Any estimate, quotation or lead time given is based on the details supplied and may change if the machine condition, parts availability or access conditions differ from what was first described.
Please make sure that all information you send us is accurate and complete. If you ask for installation, onsite repairs, workshop repairs or operator training, you remain responsible for providing safe access to the machine, a suitable work area and the correct power supply.
- Enquiries are subject to confirmation and availability.
- Quotes may change if machine faults or parts requirements change.
- Service bookings are accepted subject to workshop and field scheduling.
3. Product details and technical information
We take care to describe machines, attachments, spare parts and services correctly, but specifications, images, compatibility notes and service descriptions are provided as a guide only. Final suitability depends on the machine model, the workroom setup and the customer’s production needs. For example, a motor conversion or timing adjustment must be assessed on the actual machine in question, not only from a description sent online.
Where measurements, capacities, voltages, stitch functions or accessory lists are shown, those details may vary by model or batch. Please confirm critical requirements before ordering parts or arranging installation, especially where a factory, school or home workshop needs a specific setup.
4. Repairs, servicing and workshop conditions
When machines are brought in for workshop repairs or collected for service, they are handled with reasonable care. However, sewing machines, embroidery machines and fusing presses may already have wear, hidden faults or previous modifications that affect the result of a repair. We cannot guarantee that every machine can be restored to full original condition if the machine is beyond economical repair or if parts are no longer obtainable.
Customers are expected to remove personal items, patterns, fabric, thread packs and other loose items before handover. We are not responsible for items left in or on a machine unless we agree in writing to store them. In some cases, a clean environment and stable power supply are necessary for proper testing after servicing, especially during load-shedding or in premises with inconsistent voltage.
- Machines should be presented in a clean and serviceable condition where possible.
- Testing may require access to correct power and safe workspace conditions.
- We may decline work that is unsafe, incomplete or not practical to repair.
5. Prices, payment and ownership
All prices shown or quoted are in South African Rand unless stated otherwise. Prices may change without notice due to parts availability, transport costs or supplier changes. Any deposit requested for a machine, press, part or special order must be paid on time to secure the order. Where credit is not specifically agreed, payment is due in full before release, delivery or dispatch.
Ownership of goods remains with Asia Sewing Machines until full payment has cleared. If payment is overdue, we may hold the goods and suspend further work. We also reserve the right to recover costs incurred for special orders, diagnostics, labour already done or parts already fitted, even if a customer decides not to proceed.
6. Liability, law and contact process
To the fullest extent allowed by South African law, Asia Sewing Machines and Astros Marketing (Pty) Ltd will not be liable for indirect loss, loss of profit, downtime, missed production, or damage caused by misuse, incorrect installation, unauthorised alteration or electrical faults beyond our control. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If a dispute arises, the parties will first try to resolve it in good faith. For website enquiries, please use the enquiry form on our contact page. By using the website, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms, and that any information you submit is truthful and complete.
- South African law applies to these terms.
- Disputes should first be addressed through direct communication.
